Most people think that they should wear sunscreen only when they are exposed to the sun for a long amount of time. They couldn't be more wrong. Even on cloudy or cold days, it is necessary to wear sunscreen, since UV radiation can penetrate through clouds. By not using sunscreen daily, they are putting their skin at risk. In fact, too much sun exposure can lead to:
EYE INJURIES:
The UV rays can damage the tissue in your eyes, which will lead to blurry vision, and overtime, cataracts.
LOWERED IMMUNE SYSTEM:
When the skin gets burnt, white cells help create new cells, in order to protect the body. That means, that your immune system can be put at risk in other areas.
EARLY AGING:
Your skin will age faster, causing it to be wrinkled or leathery dark spots.
SKIN CHANGES:
Due to melanin, freckles and moles may appear. Over time, they can cause cancer.
SKIN CANCER:
Even though skin cancer mostly develops on skin exposed to the sun, it can also occur in areas that are not exposed to sunlight. There are three major types of skin cancer. Melanoma is the most severe.
